WEATHERNEWS ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN EXPANSION

Largest Weather News Provider Opens New York and Atlanta Offices;
Appoints New Executives

San Francisco, CA (August 24, 2005) – Weathernews, the world’s largest publicly traded, full-service weather company, today announced the opening of offices in New York and Atlanta and the addition of two new executives to lead the offices. By expanding into New York and Atlanta, Weathernews will be able to serve clients locally in key markets for aviation, energy, marine, and mobile services.

“Complementing our presence in San Francisco and Norman, our new offices in New York and Atlanta place Weathernews at the center of two vital business centers,” said Chris Keyes, Vice President of Business Development at Weathernews Americas. “Increasingly, companies across the country recognize the impact of weather on their business and are seeking new products and services from Weathernews to minimize that risk. We are pleased to be able to develop intimate and customized solutions to meet the needs of clients in the nation’s financial capital, New York, and the ‘capital of the south,’ Atlanta.”

The newly appointed Weathernews Regional Sales Director for the Northeast Region, James Brune, will lead the New York office, where he will be responsible for business development in the company’s core verticals: aviation, energy, marine, and mobile. In Atlanta, Charles Voss has been tapped as Sales Director for the region.

Both Brune and Voss join Gregory Cox, the Sales Director for the Western Region, ensuring the company’s ability to provide a high level of service to clients across North America. Formerly the Sales Manager for the Americas at Rydex Communications, Cox joined Weathernews in June 2003 and currently operates out of the company’s North American headquarters in San Francisco.

Prior to joining Weathernews, Voss worked for PR Newswire in its Atlanta office where he oversaw the branch’s media intelligence services sales department, trained the office’s sales staff on media intelligence services and contributed to the development of product enhancements. Before PR Newswire, Voss worked in the New York-based financial services division of Datamonitor, a market research firm. Voss is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and an MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.

Prior to joining Weathernews, Brune produced an independent dramatic feature film before embarking on graduate studies in business. Before film production, Brune worked in energy marketing and trading, holding various positions and performing many roles through the course of a six-year period for two Fortune 500 corporations. Brune earned a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University and holds an MBA from Texas A&M University.

With more than 12,000 business customers, Weathernews employs more than 700 staff including more than 400 meteorologists around the world including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, and Taiwan.
