WEATHERNEWS WINS TOP HONORS FROM QUALCOMM FOR ITS BREW®-BASED WEATHER APPLICATION

World's Largest Provider of Weather Information Awarded BREW 2004 Developer Award for Best Information Application

San Francisco, CA, (June 22, 2004) – Weathernews Americas announced that it has been honored by QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) as the winner of Best Information Application for its wireless weather application at the BREW 2004 Developers Conference held June 7-9 in San Diego.

“We are excited to receive this award from QUALCOMM,” said Richard O'Connell, vice president of marketing and new media at Weathernews. “The BREW solution has allowed us to create an innovative wireless application that delivers graphically rich weather information, directly to consumers' cell phones in an easy to navigate user-interface.”

The annual awards program showcases achievement and talent in BREW application development in six different categories. An anonymous panel of industry experts chose winners based on several criteria including: visual appeal, originality, ease-of-use, "cool factor" and features.

“QUALCOMM congratulates Weathernews on this outstanding achievement,” said Gina Lombardi, senior vice president of marketing and product management, QUALCOMM Internet Services. “We are pleased that the BREW solution is enabling developers to deliver valuable, useful and relevant services to their customers.”

The Weathernews wireless application, which is available on various handsets from leading cellular service providers, delivers weather information for over 60,000 forecast locations around the world. The application costs about $3.00/month, depending on the carrier, and includes these unique features:

Visuals of more than 130 major U.S. and international city skylines with current sky conditions
Current conditions at top U.S. airports detailing delays and airline phone numbers
My Weather – Preset weather information for up to 5 “favorite” cities
