Weathernews is pleased to announce that we will hold our “Total Fleet Management Service Seminar in Japan 2009” at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on the 11st of November, 2009.
Through previous discussion events, we shared the issues demanded by the current economic situation with global shipping companies. One of the issues that the shipping industry is faced with is creating a higher level of voyage management, which allows not only safety and economy, but also reduces the burden on the environment. Also, it was recognized that the optimization of voyage risks (Voyage Planning) could be achieved through the participation of all concerned parties on the basis of “Mutual Trust” and “Open System”.
In order to respond to these issues, a new "Voyage Planning Service" will be released. This service will focus on monitoring voyage risks of the clients' entire fleet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and providing information for finding problems and managing changes.
One of the purposes of this Seminar is to introduce the new “Voyage Planning Service” and gain input regarding the service from the entire shipping industry.
To pursue the optimization of voyage risks (Voyage Planning), we invite everyone to use our 2009 TFMS Seminar as a place to exchange information and ideas. To elaborate on this we have invited Prof. Hideaki Miyata as our keynote speaker to present “Total Optimization for the Logistics Supply Chain Management”.
Together we can achieve “the optimized balance of consumption and scheduling” so that neither Safety nor Cost Management have to be sacrificed to realize effective emission control.
