Round Table Discussion

This Round Table Discussion was held in order to discuss a new concept "Virtual Arrival" for the issue of "Emission Control". The 65 attendees included ship owners, charterers, charter party experts, traders, legal experts, and ship operators from the European shipping industry.

"Eco"- Routeing for Virtual Arrival

Starting with the introduction of the "Virtual Arrival" concept by BP Shipping, a new service concept "Eco" Routeing service to support "Virtual Arrival" was detailed by Weathernews, leading to an open and enthusiastic discussion by all attendees, which lasted throughout the remainder of the day.

Our Challenge : Total Optimization

The majority of attendees have shown their positive enthusiasm to develop the framework for the benefit (in terms of "Best Yield") of the industry and the environment. It was also confirmed that a working group will be formed for this project, and an Asian Round Table Discussion on this issue will be held in the near future.

Weathernews considers itself to be a supportive member of the shipping industry and an ethical, environmentally conscious company which is seeking ways to assist the industry to meet the challenge of emissions reduction.
