Weathernews has developed a ship motion monitoring system “YURE Station” to monitor a vessel's motion during each voyage. This system is developed in order to allow ship masters to judge vessel's motion subjectively and utilize this monitored motion data for their optimum route decision and analysis of vessel’s performance.
The YURE Station project will be developed in conjunction with global shipping companies strinving for safe navigation and load preservation.
The YURE Station is set up on the vessel's bridge and monitor vessel motion during the voyage at vessel's bridge. It monitors the vessel's three linear accelerations / motions in 3 dimensions as follows;
A further upgraded version also has three rotational motion monitoring functions by additional Gyro sensor for angular acceleration as follows;
Monitored data will be analyzed and used in our Total Fleet Management Service (TFMS), for route selection and ship motion prediction for optimum ship routeing or ship performance evaluation by monitored motion data.
Weathernews will install the YURE station systems on over 3000 vessels which are sailing across the world with our Onboard System BRIDGE and collect ship motion data in order to monitor each vessel's condition at all times.
