Weathernews provides Optimum Ship Routeing
for Total Optimisation of “Risk” and “Cost” Management

Weathernews' Optimum Ship Routeing (OSR) service provides route recommendations optimized for total fleet operation, taking into consideration a balance of risk and cost. Starting with standard routeing (partial optimization), safety, punctuality, and fuel efficiency are considered for vessel routes which support the decision making process for Vessel Masters and shore-side Operators.

Our company is constantly striving to provide optimized route recommendations that strategically support shipping companies through information sharing between Weathernews, Ships' Masters and the the Company's onshore Operators. Starting December 16th, Weathernews began providing our OSR service from our Global Center in Chiba, Japan.

Weathernews has established strategic partnerships with shipping companies so as to provide operational risk management which takes into account both safety and economy.

By working with our clients and with feedback from ship masters and operators, we have developed our service beyond just Quickest Arrival and Safety First routeing by integrating our services into options which can support all aspects of client's requirements, including best ETA, Improved Scheduling, optimum RPM and Fuel Consumption management so as to balance risk and cost in the solutions which we provide.

Furthermore, our service is intended to provide strategic fleet management across multiple voyages so as to allow comprehensive supporting decision making at every level.

We also aim to make a positive contribution to lessening the impact on the environment through reduction of fuel consumed by vessels.

The number of vessels we service at any one time will soon exceed 4000.
