The main focus of the visit was to go over our latest upgrade of the On Board Routeing System BRIDGE. This system is supporting our Optimum Ship Routeing services for ship masters by computed comparisons of multiple routes, using 10 day forecasts, and including 1 by 1 (deg) winds and waves grid data, and 0.5 by 0.5 (deg) resolution for the ocean currents. Weathernews will start with the implementation phase that will lead to MSC having BRIDGE installed on board of the entire MSC owned fleet.

This will be the official start of a long lasting cooperation in which Weathernews will provide MSC with the best risk communication services to enhance safe navigation (Total Fleet Management Service) and MSC will share with Weathernews the expertise coming from its long history of nautical and vessel handling knowledge.

Safety is the first priority for MSC vessels and communication between the Global Centre and the MSC Operations Department is the key for success. Weekly Video Conferences with our experts are now in place on a regular basis to fulfill this important customer need. Being "Always with You" is what makes Weathernews unique to MSC.
